4 injured in Arizona car crash; 2 in critical condition

The modern convenience of motor vehicles has proved to be both a benefit and detriment to society. Car accidents all too often result in the injury or death of innocent people. A recent car crash here in Arizona exemplifies this very fact, as police claim that a wrong-way driver is the cause of seriously injuring four people, including himself.

Authorities say that the crash happened on a recent late evening after they’d been notified of a wrong-way driver traveling on an interstate. One officer attempted to ram the vehicle, but the driver swerved out of the way. He then hit another vehicle with two passengers before running into a third. Two of the victims had to be rescued from their vehicles, and all four people involved -- including the driver -- had to be rushed to area hospitals. Two are listed in critical condition, and the other two are listed as serious but stable.

Police say they believe that the man accused of causing the crashes was intoxicated. They have also said that he will likely face criminal charges upon his recovery. The interstate had to be temporarily closed while first responders tended to the crash site.

No matter the outcome of any criminal proceedings here in Arizona, the man who is accused of causing the car crash could also have a claim filed against him by any of the victims or their families. A successfully litigated claim could mean monetary compensation that might help the victims cover medical expenses or other costs related to the accident. Hopefully, the victims will all make a full recovery and be able to pursue justice as they see fit.
