Several injured in a car crash in Arizona

A car accident can have devastating effects to its victims, including bodily harm, emotional trauma and financial losses. A recent accident in Arizona has left several people, including the driver considered responsible for the incident, severely injured and likely struggling in each of these ways. The car crash occurred recently on Interstate 10 near Phoenix and is believed to have been the result of impaired driving.

The accident occurred mid-October when the driver of rented sedan, a 20-year-woman, entered Interstate 10 and headed westbound in the eastbound lanes. She apparently struck three vehicles, and debris from the wreckage hit another vehicle. Four people, including the woman, were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The injuries suffered were listed as serious to critical. The current conditions of the victims have not been reported.

The driver believed responsible for this crash has been released from the hospital and has been booked into jail. She is facing several charges for the incident, including aggravated assault, criminal damage and DUI. According to court records, her blood-alcohol level was .19 percent when she was tested shortly after the crash.

Those who were injured in this car crash retain the right to pursue legal action against the driver thought responsible. Personal injury claims may be filed by each of the victims in an Arizona civil court in an effort to seek compensation for the damages sustained. Claims that are successfully litigated may result in a monetary judgment that can provide for any expenses encountered as a direct result of the crash, including medical bills, and also provide for other compensable damages pursuant to applicable laws.
