1 killed in recent auto-pedestrian car accident

The individual believed responsible for a fatal hit-and-run collision in Arizona has been identified and arrested. The auto-pedestrian car accident occurred Dec. 9, in the Phoenix area. While the driver deemed responsible for this event has been found, the victim's surviving family members are still struggling to cope with the unexpected loss of life -- which is understandable -- and still have many questions about this tragic event.

According to reports, a 61-year-old male was struck by a car while at the intersection of Baseline Road and 48th Street. The victim was waiting to cross the street when he was struck. He was taken to a medical facility in the area for care, but he died a short time later.

The driver thought responsible for this incident is a 49-year-old male. Authorities were alerted to this individual when they received reports that his vehicle matched the description of the one involved in the collision. Upon inspection, police found damage to his car consistent with the damage that would be seen on a vehicle involved in an auto-pedestrian crash.

The driver accused of hitting the victim is likely facing some serious criminal charges as a result of this auto-pedestrian car accident. He may also face legal actions in an Arizona civil court if the surviving family members of the victim choose to seek compensation for their losses, which they may do so with the assistance of legal counsel. A successfully litigated wrongful death claim could result in them being awarded a financial judgment which could certainly help them take care of any economic losses resulting from this event.
