1 killed, several injured in Arizona car crash

Several teenagers were injured and another one killed in a recent accident in Arizona. This car crash occurred in the Tombstone area on Dec. 16. Only one vehicle is said to have been involved in this wreck.

According to reports, five students of Tombstone High School loaded into a car after a school function. It has been said that the driver of the vehicle over-corrected while taking a curve on Charleston Road and lost control of the car. The automobile then went off the side of the road and landed in a ditch. Three of the passengers were thrown from the car. Sadly, one of them died at the scene of the accident.

The driver and other passengers were transported via helicopter to a medical center in Tucson with serious injuries. At this time, police are still investigating the incident. They do not believe impairment to be a factor in this case, but speed may have been. It has not been reported if any charges are pending against the driver.

This car crash has negatively affected so many lives. The surviving victims, their families and the family members of the deceased have likely suffered countless physical, emotional and/or financial losses as a result of this incident. According to the state of Arizona, they have the right to seek compensation for any damages sustained. An experienced personal injury and wrongful death attorney can help each of them file the legal claims appropriate to their cases in civil court against the driver and/or the owner of the vehicle -- if different. Those claims that are navigated successfully may be awarded monetary judgments.
