A senior living center recently caught fire in Arizona. According to reports, all residents, but one, were able to make it out unharmed. The current status of the injured victim is unknown, but the personal injury suffered is believed to be significant.
In mid-March, it was reported that a fire broke out in a senior living facility located a little more than an hour away from the Tuscon area. Due to the physical conditions of many of the residents, more fire fighters than usual were needed to assist with the evacuation process. Rescue teams were able to get almost all of the residents removed safely. However, one person suffered significant injuries and was quickly transported to a hospital for treatment. This individual was reported to be in critical condition when admitted to a burn unit.
This incident is still under investigation. At this time, an official cause of the fire has not been reported. Other than the injured victim, it appears all other residents were able to return to their homes after the fire was extinguished.
Burn injuries can have a significant impact on a person's life. If negligence on part of another individual is believed to have caused this fire and, ultimately, the damages suffered by the victim, legal action may be pursued by the injured in an effort to seek compensation. A personal injury claim can be filed against the person or persons believed responsible for this fire, and possibly the facility owner. This type of claim, if litigated successfully in an Arizona civil court, may result in a monetary judgment granting the victim financial relief for any losses sustained as a result of this incident.
