An Arizona man is facing criminal charges for his role in an auto accident that killed two people. The fatal car crash reportedly occurred Aug. 11, in the Tucson area. Police believe that several factors contributed to this incident.
According to a local news report, a 21-year-old male was driving eastbound on Golf Links Road when he lost control of his vehicle, jumped the median and struck another car nearly head-on. The two occupants of the impacted car, sadly, died at the scene of the crash. They were a husband and wife, ages 76 and 77.
The young man deemed responsible for this tragic incident did suffer injuries in the crash. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment before authorities arrested him and booked him into jail in Pima County. Police do believe that impairment and speed both played contributing roles in this incident. The accused is said to be facing murder charges in criminal court. It is unclear if court dates regarding this matter have been put on record.
Losing loved ones is never easy. It is particularly hard to cope with, though, when the loss is due to the negligence actions of another individual. In this case, the surviving family members of the victims of this car crash may be entitled to seek compensation for any damages sustained as a result of this event. This can be done by filing wrongful death and any other applicable legal claims in an Arizona civil court. Those claims that are managed and litigated successfully may be granted monetary judgments.
