Arizona woman killed in car accident in Yavapai County

Two-lane roads can be found in areas all across Arizona. These roads, while considered sufficient for the traffic levels, can be dangerous for drivers in some circumstances. Sadly, a recent car accident on one of these roads claimed the life of a woman. This incident required traffic to be detoured for several hours while local law enforcement, the Department of Public Safety and clean-up crews worked the scene.

A two-vehicle crash in central Arizona claimed the life of a 53-year-old woman. According to local police, the collision occurred when one of the vehicles involved crossed over the center line on a two-lane road and struck the other nearly head-on. The automobiles were described as a commercial box truck and a passenger car. The victim's car, the smaller vehicle, reportedly caught fire after impact. It is unknown if the other driver was injured in the crash.

Police are still in the process of investigating this incident. At this time, it is unclear which driver is considered at fault. The Department of Public Safety is expected to make that determination in the near future.

If the driver of the box truck is deemed responsible for this car accident, the victim's family may be entitled to take legal action. A wrongful death claim could be filed against not only the driver but his or her employer. This type of claim, if successfully litigated in an Arizona civil court, could grant the victim's family a monetary judgment for any financial losses and other damages sustained as a result of this terrible tragedy.
