1 killed in car crash with cement truck

Police in Arizona are currently investigating the cause of a wreck between a sedan and a cement truck. One woman is believed to have died as a result of the injuries she suffered in this car crash. It is unknown if any criminal charges will be filed in this case.

According to reports, the driver of a cement truck attempted a left-hand turn in front of a passenger car near Indian School Road and 45th Avenue in Phoenix. The driver of the car -- a 30-year-old woman -- was unable to avoid the truck, and the two vehicles collided. A video report stated that the woman was initially found in critical condition, though, it was later reported that she died in the wreck.

The area around the accident scene was closed for some time in order for police and clean up crews to work. At this time, authorities do not believe that speed or impairment contributed to this collision. This incident is still under investigation.

When a fatal car crash occurs, whether in Arizona or elsewhere, the victim's surviving family members are likely to be emotionally crushed -- which is understandable. Along with that, the financial implications of handling an unexpected death can be devastating. While this case is still being investigated, if negligence can be established against the truck driver and/or his employer, the victim's loved ones may be able to achieve compensation for their losses. While a wrongful death claim cannot replace the life taken, it may be able to -- if successfully litigated -- provide monetary relief which would allow surviving family members the ability to focus on mourning and coping with the death of their loved one, rather than having to worry about their economic losses.
